Joe and Julie Scozzari moved from Long Island to Sebastian in 2002. In 2025, they opened Mikey’s Real Italian Ice & Dirty Water Dogs, bringing New York street food to the town they’ve called home for more than twenty years.
The name comes from the restored yellow Ford truck outside. His name is Mikey, and he’s part of the story, too.
Our Dirty Water Dogs simmer in seasoned broth before going into a steamed bun with your choice of toppings. Mustard, sauerkraut and red onion sauce are the street-cart classics, but you can order yours however you like.
Our Italian ice comes directly from New York. It’s smooth, refreshing and just as much a reason to visit as the hot dogs. Knishes and pretzels round out the menu.
Mikey is our fully restored 1926 Ford Model TT. Before becoming the restaurant’s namesake, he was a farm truck. Today, his yellow paint and wooden-spoke wheels make him easy to recognize.
Mounted on the truck is an antique cooker, another detail worth a closer look. Mikey occasionally heads out to local fairs, car shows and parades. Otherwise, you’ll usually find him parked outside the shop.
Order at the window and take a seat in Mikey’s Garage, our open-air dining area with colorful decor, plants and string lights. Stop in for lunch, bring someone along for Italian ice, and spend a little time here.
